Federation of South East Asia (SEAF)

- A massively populated federation that is composed of former sovereign nations of the former ASEAN including Papua New Guinea. Its massive population is due to refugees flowing in from former mainland China and former India just before the Global War. Its peace-loving policy actually made it among the earliest nation to stop warring and initiated peace during the Global War. A massive giant economically and a major space nation, with a special reputation of being among the largest producer of palm fuel in the energy-hungry world, it maintains a very strong position in the international politics. It also maintains a large conventional military that does not own weapons of mass destruction. However, its military machine has the capability to create as much destruction as weapons of mass destruction.

United Federated States (UFS)

-A result of the former United States of America imperialistic policy during the Global War till the Nuclear Christmas Week. A territory spanning from Hawaii, Alaska, former Canada, former United States, former Mexico, former Cuba, and all of Central America until former Panama. The conquest of North America and Central America resulted in a weak military because the United States Military was also fighting on the Antarctic Front. The United States lose its territories in the Pacific except for Hawaii. Under a new name, it reduced its military presence on the Antarctic Front and focused on domestic insurgents. Its action of using weather manipulating weapons in the Antarctic to balance its reduced military presence in the Antarctic received severe reactions from all over the world. It wrongly retaliated with nuclear weapons, when Russia sent electronic jammers via ballistic missiles to stop UFS weather manipulating weapons, and sparked the Nuclear Christmas Week. The week created a heavily burned continent of North America thus the whole of its conquered states were united to recover from the nuclear holocaust. It surrendered in the Global War and guaranteed that its system would stay and no occupation shall be done by enemy states.

It recovered quickly using its weather manipulating systems to reduce the effects of radioactive fall-outs. New towns and cities were built and it rose to be among the largest space nation with a huge space port complex in Panama.

Republic of Asian Siberia

-A nation formed from the Siberian territory of former Russia in the East side of the Ural Range. The domestic political turmoil suffered by former Russia during the Global War caused its Asian territories to breakaway. Most of the breakaway territory formed Asian Siberia.

During the war, it was nuke by Russia to ashes, partly to prevent nuclear weapons installed in Siberia to fall to the rebels’ hands. While most of the urban areas are inhabited due to dangers of radiation, the small towns in Siberia grew from massive influx of refugee and became the new urban areas for the newly formed nation.

With a huge natural resource still untapped, Asian Siberia rose after the war to be among the top raw material exporter in the world. However, as its resources are exhausted during the Space Settlement Age, it turned to space mining and developed new technologies for space mineral extraction. It became the largest miner in space due to its aggressive construction of lunar mining bases, after the completion of Lunar City.

Nevertheless, it still has a severe shortage of population even though it is growing. This provides a challenge for the nation to go into newer economic fields such as agriculture, which it really wanted to go in due to the large unused land of the nation and the new type of plantation developed by O.F. that can grow in hostile environment.

-A massive nation consisting of former China, former Taiwan, former Koreas, former Mongolia and former Japan. Still maintains

a huge population capacity even after massive emigration and after its main cities were destroyed in the Nuclear Christmas Week. It’s like a huge factory that manufactures most of the world's goods. It is in good terms with SEAF, its giant neighbor.

Federation of South Africa (SAF)

- A nation that had its formation formed by the former South Africa. From an economic bloc spanning most of the southern regions of continental Africa including Madagascar, South Africa unleashed a terrifying series of annexation by political, economical and military means. When the Global War was going on, South Africa finally deployed the larger bulk of its military in the process of annexing most of the members in the former South African bloc. Its imperialistic ambition (former South Africa) went on into a creation of a new state (That is the South African Federation). The process of annexation by South Africa of the South Africa bloc was among the several episodes of imperialistic activities done by strong nations as to take advantage of the turmoil situation the world went through during the Global War.

After the war, the nation suffered from several events of unrest in the seized territories that were brutally crushed. Economically, the new nation SAF (Federation of South Africa) went on to become among the world’s top shipbuilding nation. Its proximity to the Antarctic led to several treaties with Oceania Federation that controls vast territory in the Antarctic and it became among the major port for ships from Antarctic that are headed to major markets in the Northern Hemisphere.

It got involve in the space industry and grew to be among the major space constructors. It almost went to war with the UFS due to problems with rights on space construction sites. This caused the United Nations to rectify a radical restructure operation of nation’s space territory sovereignty.

Anyway, it went on to start a huge colony project that involved construction of twenty 10 km colonies, all together capable of supporting living population of 2 million. Has a space military and owns several of the world most advanced space warships and fighters.

Community of Central Africa (CCA)

-Not a sovereign nation but a group of small nations of Central Africa, similar to the modern day European Union with an addition of a NATO style alliance. It was formed to repel SAF's imperialistic ambition during the Global War in which CCA did successfully. It utilized a single currency to help its recovery after the Global War until the introduction of the International Monetary Unit.

-Headquarters : Foreign Legion.

Mediterranean Union

-A nation formed based on proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. Former coastal nations of the Mediterranean Sea of Europe and North Africa formed the nation with the foundation from an economic bloc designed to protect the economic engine of the Mediterranean Sea. Also created due to the collapsed of former European Union and several of the member states, it has territories ranging from North Africa (excluding Egypt) till Southern Europe bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Borders the CCA at the Sahara Desert and borders EF along a straight line from former Spain-France border till former Austria.

European Federation

Oceania Federation

-A nation consisting of the former Australia, former New Zealand, several other former South Pacific island nations

(That did not joined the creation of large Pacific nations) and also a small portion of the Antarctic continent directly south of mainland Australia. It was among the nation that started the Global War and also among the last to sign a peace treaty. Although spared from the bulk of the Nuclear Christmas Week, it suffered heavily from the former USA weather manipulating weapons. With a population of merely 30 million, it was a miracle that this nation can make war for such a long time and still survived till the end; even as other stronger nations decided to end the war.

After the war, it invested heavily on agriculture and mineral extraction from captured Antarctic territories. Overproduction of palm fuel and agricultural goods made it the second largest palm fuel producer after SEAF and the largest food exporter in the world. It is even called the farm of the world. The nation suffered severely and heavily from a serious plant virus outbreak but it recovered quickly after an aggressive replantation plan. Advancement in agricultural research has even allowed O.F. to expand its agriculture activities into the South Pole and overtook SEAF as the largest palm fuel producer in the 70's of the KS years. It doesn't have a large presence in space except for several medium class stations, one industrial colony and two agriculture colonies.

United States of Latin America (USLA)

-A nation formed as defense against the imperialistic ambition of the former United States of America and also the UFS. Initiated by the former Brazil and Argentina, the nation comprises the territory of the whole of the South America region, only bordering UFS at Panama.

Its biodiversity is among its modal for recovery after the Global War. It bears the grunt of the Global War as some of the Antarctic battles encroached into Argentina and several other South American former sovereign states. UFS tore down most of its northern region with weather manipulating weapons and it is among the last nation to stop warring in the Global War. It suffered from several nuclear strikes from UFS in which only some of the old major cities were totally destroyed.

After the war, it was helped by the UFS to recover quickly from effects of war especially the Nuclear Christmas Week. After major population relocation to new urban locations, the nation recovered and grew tremendously into development of bio-fuel. Its alcohol-based bio-fuel had to compete with the more successful palm fuel that SEAF produces. Nevertheless, it turned to palm plantation to take advantage of the rising palm fuel prices during Oceania Federation’s plantation viral outbreak. It became the third largest producer of palm fuel since then.

In addition to that, the country exports huge amount of electricity to its energy-hungry neighbor (UFS) and received huge profits from it. The energy is produce in vast quantities in its huge hydroelectric dams.

During the Space Settlement Age, it profited a lot from the space industry even though USLA in itself is not a major space constructor (it doesn’t even own a colony). This is especially so when the UFS’ mass driver at Panama was completed. It maintains a large terrestrial military that is unfortunately inferior to its neighbor’s space equipped military.

Confederation of Middle East

- A loose federation of former sovereign states in the Middle East with states maintaining their own state government system of monarchy, republic and so on. The territory includes every area of the Middle East including former Egypt and former Turkey and excluding the former Palestine and Israel area. Its states used to enjoy huge profits from their once huge petroleum industry. However, as oil became scarce and extraction expensive, the states of the Middle East collapsed economically and form an economic bloc to reduce the effect of the energy crisis. This economic bloc expanded its members as the threat of the Global War loomed and the bloc finally merges into a single nation.

Now, the nation's economy focused on supplying material for space construction like sand, cement and so on. It also engaged in agriculture and with the help of Oceania Federation, its large arid deserts can be used for mega scale agriculture. It is the second producer of food in the world after Oceania Federation. However strong its economy is, it doesn't have any major presence in space except for two dozens of space stations dedicated for scientific and medical research.

South Asia Union

-A large nation consisting of former small nations in Central Asia, former sovereign nations of South Asia and some former island nations of Hindi Ocean with borders from former Afghanistan till former Bangladesh. It is a major space constructor with a huge industrial capacity due to its huge population.

Republic of Palestine

-A nation, united after being in conflict in few last decades of the AD calendar, consists of former Israel and the disputed Palestine territories. Base on a social contract, the people of Palestine and Israel finally live together in peace and strife to lead the way for peace in a war devastated by the Global War. A nation that is the center of peace activities and also the HQ for the United Nations, its economy is based heavily on the tourism and diplomatic activities.

Strange for a small nation, it has three capitals.

United Nations (Restructured)

- The United Nations Charter was suspended due to internal conflicts between the Security Council and the General Assembly. The suspension caused all diplomatic functions of the United Nations to cease and that led the path an international diplomatic breakdown that sparked the Global War. During the Global War, several attempts were made to revive the UN but failed. Only after the global shock caused by the Nuclear Christmas Week did the United Nations started to be revived. The new United Nations is formed with a revised Charter. The General Assembly has more power in decision making to replace the disbanded Security Council. Old permanent members of the Security Council retained their veto rights. Vetoing in the new United Nations requires at least three vetoes from veto-wielding members with at least 20% no votes in the voting.

The voting to pass a resolution in the General Assembly is as the principal of majority wins unless vetoed in the method specified.

A new addition to the newly restructured United Nations is the establishment of a new branch: Security Forces. It is like the military for the United Nations. It holds most of the nuclear weapons that were handed over to the United Nations after the Global War. The nukes were kept in an underground facility deep in the continent of Antarctica where they are gradually dismantled to provide fissile fuel of nuclear reactors around the world.

The new Headquarters for the United Nations is in Gaza Strip, Republic of Palestine.

In the new space era, more branches were added for operations of the United Nations in space. The United Nations Space Territories Headquarter at PISS and United Nations Lunar Headquarters at Lunar City on the moon.

However, corruption became more rampant in the organization at the turn of the second KS century.
